George Edward Martin Van Haltren (March 30, 1866 - September 29, 1945) was an American center fielder in Major League Baseball who also pitched and occasionally played shortstop. He batted and threw left-handed. Van Haltren played with the Chicago Cubs for the first three years of his career, the last ten with the New York Giants and several teams in between.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri.

His career statistics included a .316 batting average with 69 home runs and 1014 RBIs. He also ended his career with 2532 hits and 583 stolen bases. He shared the lead in triples in 1896, with Tom McCreery, each hitting 21.

He died in Oakland, California at the age of 79.
